This Is Getting More Interesting! Wooden Yoke Replaced With Iron

August 28, 2020 by ddmionline

Good day Saints in Christ Jesus. You are all welcome to another new day. Glory to God for the gift of life.

God’s light will continue to shine on your path to give you direction on all matters of your destiny, in Jesus name.

The Lord God will rescue you and prevent you from taking any action that can bring calamities into your life, in Jesus name.

In our today’s episode 518 of studying and understanding the Bible, we shall be examining Jeremiah Chapter 28 titled:

This Is Getting More Interesting! Wooden Yoke Replaced With Iron.

Chapter 28 is a further confirmation that the king that Prophet Jeremiah was referring to in our previous chapter was Zedekiah and not Jehoiakim, because this is the continuation of that story.

Having addressed those nations that came to plot against Nebuchadnezzar using a wooden yoke made with leather straps, they rejected his message and agreed with a false prophet’s message.

This false prophet called Hananiah spoke with eloquence and convincing strategy by giving them false hope. Because people were already on his side, he collected Jeremiah’s wooden yoke and broke it into pieces. You will see this in verse 10.

Thereafter, he made a false pronouncement in the name of the Lord that Nebuchadnezzar’s yoke as illustrated by Jeremiah has been broken. Verse 11.

Remember, Jeremiah was a young prophet and probably he didn’t want to keep arguing with another Prophet in the presence of the people, he therefore retreated.

Later on, the Lord sent him back to go and deliver another prophecy which is our subject matter for today that:

Although Hananiah had succeeded in breaking the wooden yoke but he had automatically turned it into an iron yoke.

What does this mean?

In a simple term it means they have complicated their problems.

This is a big lesson for every human being on earth, especially with respect to what happened in Eden.

God initially put man in a smooth and direct relationship with Himself, but out of wrong choices, man disobeyed God by choosing darkness in place of light and in the process brought destruction upon themselves.

Always remember this, it was not God that brought destruction upon man. Rather, it was the consequence of man’s action. We have studied this repeatedly in our series and I will continue to repeat it until people understand.

Dont mind all the old Testament prophets adding their own extras to their prophecies in order to emphasize their messages.

Any where you see Prophets saying: “God says and I will destroy you or this or that…”

It was not God doing the destruction. Rather, the message has always been this:

In the process of disobeying God, you are automatically destroying yourself.

Apostle James already made this very clear in his Epistle. James Chapter 1. Please read the entire chapter for proper understanding of how evil and destruction happen to people.

A lot of translations have also led people astray in many ways.

For example, when God was telling Jeremiah to inform Hananiah that because you have broken this wooden yoke, you have automatically complicated your problems using iron yoke as example.

If you read some translations e.g GNT says it was God that did it while another translation says it was Hananiah that did it.

Looking at the original manuscript, it was actually Hananiah that changed it by his actions. Some translations got it right though. E.g KJV got it right in verse 13 but then got it wrong in verse 14.

God has never and will never be involved in evil.

Even what we call God’s judgement on the last day will be as a result of the absence of God in an evil situation.

It’s a principle: e.g when you do this…this is what will happen to you…

If you touch fire, you will get your fingers burnt. To avoid getting your fingers burnt, then don’t touch fire.

And if you by mistake touch fire and get your fingers burnt, you can still call on God while you have the chance (while still living or if the end has not come) and repent.

That’s what the people of Judah refused to do.

Lessons Learnt:
Not all those who call themselves Pastors, Apostles or Prophets are truly serving God. Many of them are agents of darkness and you need the Spirit of discernment to recognise them.

You will know them by their fruit and what they preach. Forget about their many years of experience in ministry. If they can’t get the message of Salvation right, then there is no message of the Bible they can get right. It will be manipulations upon manipulations.

Therefore, be careful!

To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.

Let us pray:

  • I declare you will not be led astray, in Jesus name, in Jesus name.
  • The Lord God will rescue you and prevent you from taking any action that can bring calamities into your life, in Jesus name.
  • That new place, that new location of breakthrough that the Lord is taking you, you will not miss it, in Jesus name.
