They Failed To Learn From Their Mistakes; See What Happened Next

November 27, 2020 by ddmionline

Greetings to you all greatly beloved of God and welcome to another episode of our daily study of the Scriptures. We bless the name of the Lord God for the gift of life and for His benefits on us each new day. Praise be to God!

In our today’s episode 604, we shall be examining the book of Amos Chapter 4 titled:

They Failed To Learn From Their Mistakes; See What Happened Next

The leaders of the nations of Israel and Judah had failed to lead their people back to God and as a result, it has affected a lot of things.

It has caused wars, famine, captivity and even death.

In Amos chapter 4:1-2, we read that the wickedness of Israel has also spread over to their women, who have in turn started misbehaving just like their leaders have been doing.

Amos 4:1 GNT
Listen to this, you women of Samaria, who grow fat like the well-fed cows of Bashan, who mistreat the weak, oppress the poor, and demand that your husbands keep you supplied with liquor!

Where do you think they learned it from?

From their leaders of course, in which majority of these leaders were husbands to these women.

They failed in leading their home to God and their wives started to misbehave – oppressing the poor, mistreating the weak and engaging in alcoholism.

Before you know what’s happening you will discover that their children will also take over from them rhe same act of wickedness.

This is why it is very cruicial for the head of every home to be sober, vigilant, prayerful and be studying the rightly-divided Word of God.

In any nation, where their leaders do not know God or fail to do the right thing, it will flow down to their followers and they too will start to misbehave.

Their situation in Samaria (capital of Israel) became worse to the point that these women were demanding for more and more liquor from their men.

How does this apply to us as New Covenant Believers?

Remember the Word of God says we have been seated with Christ already in the heavenly places. Eph 2:6

But then, we need to be careful and be vigilant because the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour. 1Pet 5:8

That’s why he says in our walk with God, we must learn to stand firmly while putting on the whole armour of God. Eph 6

The Israelites were living a careless life.

They refused to learn fron their past mistakes.

They kept on disobeying and offending God and that’s why those calamities listed in the remaining verses of Amos chaptet 4 happened to them.

As a man of the house or as a leader in the society, make it a point of duty to carry your family along in serving God.

Grace be with you all…

To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.

Let’s pray:

By the authority in the name of Jesus, I declare you are fortified with the entire armour of God, in Jesus name.

I declare no member of your family will be wayward, in Jesus name.

The peace of God Almighty will continue to reign supreme in your life and family, in Jesus name.
