Despite Judgement For The Wicked, Restoration Was Already Promised

December 2, 2020 by ddmionline

Greetings to you all greatly beloved of God and welcome to another episode of our daily study of the Scriptures. We bless the name of the Lord God for His many blessings over us. Praise be to God!

In our today’s episode 609, we shall be examining the book of Amos Chapter 9 titled:

Despite Judgement For The Wicked, Restoration Was Already Promised

Chapter 9 which is the last chapter in the book of Amos begins with another vision which was revealed to Prophet Amos. He heard a command or instruction that says: “Strike the top of the temple columns so hard that the foundation would shake…”

Again, this is a vision about the final ruin of the kingdom of Israel and how the people would be scattered all over captivity. Read Amos 9:1-10.

However, reading this same chapter from verse 11 down to 15, Prophet Amos declares a message of hope – The Good News about Salvation for mankind, which was symbolized by the restoration of the kingdom of David.

The David’s royal line mentioned was already fulfilled in the Messiah, Christ Jesus, who came in human form passing through the lineage of king David.

Read about the list of the ancestors of Jesus Christ, the descendant of David, who was also the descendant of Abraham here in Matthew 1:1-24

I will also recommend: Acts 15:15-16

David G., a Bible scholar, asserted that without the last passage of chapter 9, where there was a turn around and a change of tone, the book of Amos would be incomplete.

In the same vein, Morgan, another Bible Scholar opined and I quote: “It is now declared that the reason of the divine judgment is not revenge, but the only way in which it is possible to usher in the restored order on which the heart of God is set.”

So, God promised to raise up the ruins of the kingdom of Israel, and rebuild it as in the days of old:

In other words, God restores mankind to His original plan in the garden of Eden that was interrupted by the devil.

This then agrees with what Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, which was also prophesied by Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 43:19. Please read those bible verses.

The devil may think that he had succeeded in destroying people’s lives through sin, but then God comes in, intervenes, and raises His standard against the devil and restore His children from his jaw of destruction.

Remember this: the devil steals, kills and destroys, but God saves and gives eternal life in Christ Jesus.

Have you received Him?

To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.

Let’s pray:

In any area of your life you are experiencing a downtime – spiritually, academically, maritally etc, receive divine restoration right now, in Jesus name.

The peace of God will continue to fill your heart and grant you your heart desires, in Jesus name.

Is there anyone going through one challenge or the other to the point that you have even considered giving up? I declare divine strength upon you to carry through to your desired breakthrough, receive it now in Jesus name.

Bible Readings For Today: The whole book of Nahum with Isaiah 43

I call you blessed now and always.
