Studying and Understanding the Bible – Part 393

April 25, 2020 by ddmionline

Good morning Believers in Christ Jesus.
We give glory to God for the gift of another day, for the privilege of life and for God’s unending mercy and grace upon us always. Praise God!

The Book of Isaiah Chapter 30

This is a continuation of Prophet Isaiah’s message that we looked into yesterday about how the southern kingdom of Israel formed alliance with Egypt in order to fight against the Assyrian Armies instead relying on God and following the battle strategies that God has always been giving them.

From our previous studies, we have realized how trusting in other nations for help has totally failed them.

Today we want to consider more of Isaiah’s messages regarding warnings from God, because Israel (south) still remained stubborn despite the warnings.

Please, let’s patiently read the following verses:

Isaiah 30:8-15,18 TPT
God told me to write down in a book words meant for the coming generation as an eternal witness.

[9] For they are stubborn rebels, children always telling lies, who refuse to listen to Yahweh’s instruction.

[10] They say to the seers: “Stop seeing your visions.” They say to the prophets: “Stop prophesying to us about what is right. Prophesy only pleasant things to us, even if they’re illusions!

[11] Leave this narrow way; turn aside from this harsh path. Don’t confront us anymore with the Holy One of Israel!”

Now let’s read the about the consequences of their actions/decisions:

[12] Therefore, this is what the Holy One of Israel has to say: “Because you have despised this message, and trust in your own clever abilities to deceive, and rely upon oppression,

[13] your own sin will become like a high, bulging wall that is cracked and about to collapse. In an instant, it will all fall down.

[14] It will break into pieces like shattered pottery, smashed so ruthlessly that not even a fragment big enough to pick up a hot coal or to scoop water from a cistern will be found!”

Now, let’s look at the way out:

[15] Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Come back to me! By returning and resting in me you will be saved. In quietness and trust you will be made strong. But you refused.

Note: God still emphasized REST here, which is a figurative expression for Faith in the finished work of Christ for Salvation.

[18] For this reason the Lord is still waiting to show his favor to you so he can show you his marvelous love. He waits to be gracious to you. He sits on his throne ready to show mercy to you. For Yahweh is the Lord of justice, faithful to keep his promises. Overwhelmed with bliss are all who will entwine their hearts in him, waiting for him to help them.

This is a message to those who have not received God’s Rest. God is saying: come back and receive REST (Salvation). It is also a wake up call to every believer. In any way you might have been living in disobedience, this is the time to re-evaluate your ways and get serious with God in prayers and Word of God, accurately dividing it as Paul advices Timothy in 2Tim2:15.

God wants to help us. We have trusted in own understanding long enough without any result. We can’t save ourselves.

Hebrews 4:15-16
[15]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
[16]Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

When you put your trust in God and dwell in His REST, you will be confident, bold, safe and secure.

To be continued…Praise God.

Let’s declare this together:

I am saved, safe, secure, confident, and bold. I operate in earth realm with positive perspective. I have nothing to worry about because God’s got my back. I rest in His promises always. Amen.

Bible readings for today: Matthew Chapters 26, 27 & 28 with Psalm 68

I call you blessed now and always.
