Studying and Understanding the Bible – Part 396

April 27, 2020 by ddmionline

Good morning People of God in Christ Jesus.
We give glory to God for the gift of another new day, for the privilege of life and for God’s unending mercy and grace upon us always. Praise God!

The Book of Isaiah Chapter 32

Yesterday, we saw how Prophet Isaiah foresaw a very powerful turn around in Judah where God’s people would be rescued from Assyrian Armies and then a season of peaceful and righteousness Kingdom would follow.

Based on the context of Chapter 32, we learnt that Isaiah was referring to King Hezekiah and his princes literally.

Most importantly, we must realise that the prophecy was a figurative expression of the Kingdom of God that Christ brokered for us with His death and resurrection.

The reason is because the only Kingdom that is righteous and peaceful is the Kingdom of God.

Let’s read Rom14:17-18 TPT
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of rules about food and drink, but is in the realm of the Holy Spirit, filled with righteousness, peace, and joy.

So, according to the above verses, the Kingdom of God is of righteousness and peace. Ruling in this Kingdom is Christ alongside believers who have also entered into this Kingdom by Faith in Him.

It means you become a member of this Kingdom by being born of the Spirit.

This is exactly what Jesus Himself told Nicodemus during a meeting they both had in the night.

John 3:5-6
[5]Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

[6]That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

In this Kingdom, every believer is a Prince (no gender). In spiritual realm, there is no dichotomy between male and female. Everybody is one in the Kingdom of God and we are all Princes that would rule with Christ.

Let’s read what the writer of Hebrew says concerning Christ and how He co-opted us into this family of God.

Hebrews 2:6-11
[6]But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

[7]Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

[8]Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

[9]But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

[10]For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

[11]For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren.

Note the above powerful statement:

Christ was made a little lower than the angels through His suffering, death and then He resurrected and by that He produced many Sons for God (that’s us).

He sanctified us and we became one with Him and presented us to God as His siblings (co-Princes). What a great privilege that we have in this Kingdom.

Also let’s read this…

Romans 8:14,29
[14]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
[29]For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Also read 1Peter 2:9 to see how we as believers were described as part of the Royal Family in God’s Kingdom.

To be continued…Praise God.

Let’s declare this together:

I am a member of God’s Royal Family. I have been forgiven, sanctified and made righteous by the blood of Jesus through faith in His finished work. I reign with Christ far above principalities and powers. Amen.

Bible readings for today: Judges Chapters 7, 8 & 9 with Psalm 70

I call you blessed now and always.
