Studying and Understanding the Bible – Part 435

Good morning Believers in Christ Jesus.

STUDYING AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE – PART 435

Isaiah Chapter 48

In this Chapter, Prophet Isaiah describes the hypocrisy and stubbornness of the Israelites and how they professed to be God’s people, but failed to do according to God’s instructions.

Let’s read some verses…

Isaiah 48:1-4 TPT
“Listen carefully, O Jacob’s tribes, you who are called by the name Israel and come from the lineage of Judah, who solemnly swear in the name of Yahweh and claim to worship the God of Israel. But there is no truth or righteousness in your confession!

[2] Indeed, you name yourselves after the holy city and say that you depend upon Israel’s God. Yahweh, the Commander of Angel Armies, is his name.

[3] “Long ago I prophesied things that would happen. I issued decrees and made them known. Then suddenly, I acted and made them happen.

[4] I knew you were stubborn. Your neck is like a rod of iron, and you’re as hard-hearted as brass!

The above verses prove to us that our God is all knowing and there is nothing hidden from Him.

He knows our hearts and also knows what we are capable of doing per time. He is the only one that knows and can decide the end or future events from the beginning.

It’s so unfortunate that the Israelites who were supposed to know better, were busy carrying religious images without any spiritual reality.

Do we have people with similar characteristics in our dispensation? Absolutely, yes.

Let’s see what Apostle Paul has to say…

Romans 2:17-19,28 TPT
Now, you claim to be a Jew because you lean upon your trust in the law and boast in your relationship with God.

[18] And you claim to know the will of God, and to have the moral high ground because you’ve been taught the law of Moses.

[19] You are also confident that you are a qualified guide to those who are “blind,” a shining light to those who live in darkness.

[28] You are not a Jew if it’s only superficial-for it’s more than the surgical cut of a knife that makes you Jewish.

Prophet Isaiah was indirectly telling them that Mosaic laws and all their religious gymnastics would not save them.

Let’s see what Apostle Paul recommends to be the only way people get saved…

Romans 3:21 TPT

[21] But now, independently of the law, the righteousness of God is tangible and brought to light through Jesus, the Anointed One. This is the righteousness that the Scriptures prophesied would come. It is God’s righteousness made visible through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. And now all who believe in him receive that gift. For there is really no difference between us,

To be continued…Praise God.
