The Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising

July 2, 2020 by ddmionline

Arise, shine; for thy Light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

Good day Beloved of God in Christ Jesus. Welcome to July!!! It’s a brand new month and a brand new day.
We give glory to God for the privilege of life and for His unending mercy and grace upon us always. Praise God!

STUDYING AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE – PART 461

Isaiah Chapter 60

Yesterday, we learnt about why people usually get themselves into problems and it appears prayers are not answered and God hid His face from them or it appears God’s hand is too weak and can’t save.

The problem is not from God. He doesn’t forsake His children neither does He hide Himself. It’s actually the other way round. Man put themselves in problems and hide themselves from God because of sin consciousness just like it happened in Eden.

Unfortunately, no one could rescue man from this sin problem.

That’s why Isaiah says in Isaiah 59:16-19 TPT

And then He was astonished to see that there was no champion, not even one, who would rescue the oppressed. So then His own mighty power was released to deliver, and His own righteousness supported him.

Therefore, our Christ Jesus stepped in and rescued us, forgives us and grants us eternal Salvation through our faith in Him.

It is this Good News that Isaiah continues with in Chapter 60 when he says…

Isaiah 60:1
[1]Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

The figurative expression employed by Prophet Isaiah in the above verse is a very powerful one.

He was simply referring to the New Covenant believers. Jesus Christ is the Light of God that shines upon us at Salvation and we take that Light and shine it upon the whole world anywhere we find ourselves.

The reason for shining the Light upon the whole world is given in the next verse. Let’s read…

Isaiah 60:2
[2]For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Isaiah quoted the event that happened in Genesis, especially Chapter 1 to convey his message.

Darkness covering the earth represents the people without the knowledge of God all over the world and the moment the Light of the knowledge of God comes upon them just like it came upon us, they would be saved and liberated (rise and shine).

Isaiah 60:3-7
[3]And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

[4]Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

[5]Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

[6]The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

[7]All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

Note that no other better way Isaiah could have used to describe the flourishing condition of the New Covenant believers comprising both Jews and Gentiles as one fold under one Shepherd (Christ).

Jesus Christ Himself confirms this in one of the Gospels. Let’s read…

John 10:16
[16]And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

I believe this is where Christ Apostolic Church took their motto or slogan from. You will see this in their logo: One Fold; One Shepherd).

It’s the coming together of both Jews and Gentiles during Salvation under one Saviour – Christ Jesus.

What a beautiful family born anew by God. Praise God. Hallelujah!!!

To be continued…Praise God.

Our prayers for everyone on this platform: By the authority in the name of Jesus Christ,

👉In this new month, you will rise and shine. You will flourish, because Christ has taken residence in you and your household. Continue to prosper and make merry, in Jesus name.

👉Every trace of darkness that the devil might want to program to pollute your family is dispelled right now, in Jesus name.

👉The sound of joy and gladness will continually be heard in your home, in Jesus name.

Bible readings for today: Luke Chapters 10, 11 & 12 with Ecclesiastes 1
