It’s all farce and did not come from a genuine heart. Their call for repentance was a mere religious display that lacked true persuasion. Hosea told them, “Your love for God disappears as quickly as morning mist; it is like a dew that vanishes early in the day.
I declare that God is my constant guide and counsellor through His Holy Spirit. I choose to listen to Him whenever He speaks and leads me along my life journeys. He protects, guides, and watches over me in all my ways. I will always ignore unfounded fantasies from the devil and remain united with God, my Father. Amen.

The first chapter of the book of Hosea had already given us an overview of what the entire book looks like. From human’s judgemental perspective, it is so unusual to see a Prophet married to a prostitute. However, in God’s perspective, it’s a strong message to His people telling them how much He loved and loves them even in their sinful state but does not want them to remain in that state. Hence, the call for repentance, which is the overall theme of chapter 2 anchored upon the pedestal of the Love of God.
But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly! And there is still much more to say of his unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in my sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God
