In the furnace of the fire of adversity, God preserved His people – PART 436

June 8, 2020 by ddmionline

Good morning Beloved of God in Christ Jesus.
We give glory to God for the gift of another new day, we thank God for the privilege of life and for His unending mercy and grace upon us always. Praise God!

STUDYING AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE – PART 436

Isaiah Chapter 48 continued…

Despite how deep the sinfulness of Israel is according to verses 6-8, still, God decided to show them His amazing mercy, which they did not deserve.

Let’s read some verses talking about God’s mercy for them.

Isaiah 48:9-11 TPT
yet, for the sake of my great name and for my glory, I held back my anger and was patient with you so I did not whittle you down to nothing.

The above verse means that even when they were facing the consequences of their disobedience to God, yet, God didn’t allow them to perish.

[10] See, I have purified you in the furnace of adversity, but not like silver – I have refined you in the fire.

Note: the above verse means that even in facing the consequences of their disobedience against God, God in His infinite mercy prevented them from facing those trials that were beyond their capacity to bear them. He was there with them in that fire refining them.

Isaiah wasn’t talking about physical fire here…hope we know?

God knows how to use the fire of furnace of adversity to purify and shape His children (every believer), to make us more like Christ.

He did this for the integrity of His name.

[11] For my own sake alone I will do it, so my name will not be dishonored. I will not yield my glory to another.

Let’s read what Apostle Paul has for us about the above…

1 Corinthians 10:11-13 TPT
All the tests they endured on their way through the wilderness are a symbolic picture, an example that provides us with a warning so that we can learn through what they experienced. For we live in a time when the purpose of all the ages past is now completing its goal within us.

[12] So beware if you think it could never happen to you, lest your pride becomes your downfall.

[13] We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously.

Did you just read that?

That’s the extent of God’s Love for us.

God sent warnings to His children…
His children disobeyed Him…
His children faced trials as a consequence of their disobedience…

God then intervened and restored them.

To be continued…Praise God.

Our prayers for everyone on this platform:

By the authority in the name of Jesus Christ,

👉Every trial or situation that the devil may be cooking to bring you down has failed already, in Jesus name.

👉Continue to operate in the realm of total victory over every situation, in Jesus name.

👉No one on this platform will fall into any satanic trap, in Jesus name.
