STUDYING AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE – PART 458

Isaiah Chapter 57 concluded

Isaiah 57:15-21
[15]For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Note: The above is another portion of the Scripture that describes who and where God is.

He is a Spirit Being, that is holy and lives in eternity. He lives in the spiritual realm and can only be accessed in the spirit. He also lives inside each and everyone of us, the moment we receive Him in Christ Jesus.

Jesus confirms this to the Samaritan woman in John 4:23-24
[23]But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

[24]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Let’s continue with Isaiah 57…

[16]For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

Note: From the above verse, you will not find God continually accusing sinners or holding anger against them, because God is not looking for the defeat or death of sinners.

Rather, God wants them to repent and come back to Him. One of the major reasons God does not kill people is because of His Love for His creation and also because He is a giver of Life.

So, when man lost Life through disobedience, God brought about spiritual healing and restoration through faith in the finished work of Christ.

Let’s read more of Isaiah 57…

[17]For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.

Note: I have scripturally explained the above verse severely that God does not kill, He does not hide Himself from people. Unfortunately, it’s man that hides after sinning and when they refused to repent, they get killed either by the consequences of their action or by the devil himself.

The Messiah said it Himself here in one of the Gospels…

John 8:44
[44]Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Let’s read more of Isaiah…

[18]I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

Note: Here is the Good News…instead of God to kill you for your mistakes, He prefers to lead you back into repentance, heal you and restore you to the original person He created you to be.

That’s why when Adam and Even sinned, to prevent them from dying spiritual death as a consequence, God had to kill an animal (shedding of blood), and covered their nakedness and they were preserved.

The reason is because, the Bible says without shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.

God did that as a figure of what Christ came to do for the Salvation of the entire humanity.

Prophet Hosea wrote about this in Hosea 6:2

[2]After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

That’s exactly what Jesus did when He resurrected on the 3rd day.

[19]I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

Ephesians 2:11-22 gives a very clear description of the above verse. Please, let’s read the entire portion for more understanding of what God did for both the Jews (near people) and the Gentiles (afar of or distant lands).

[20]But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

[21]There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

For the wicked to receive peace, he has to forsake his wicked ways and receive the Gospel of Salvation for them to be forgiven and granted eternal life.

To be continued…Praise God.
