Stop Blaming The People, This Is A Leadership Problem

November 10, 2020 by ddmionline

Greetings to you all greatly beloved of God and welcome to another episode of our daily study of the Scriptures. We bless the name of the Lord God for the gift of life and for His benefits on us each new day. Praise be to God!

In our today’s episode 588, we shall be examining Hosea Chapter 5 titled:

Stop Blaming The People, This Is A Leadership Problem

Prophet Hosea explained to the religious and political leaders that they were the real cause of the people’s misbehaviour against God as recorded in chapter 4.

This same message is continued in chapter 5 where he reiterated all that were said in chapter 4 and even added more in plain words.

Assuming the leaders had done the right thing by leading the people to the right path and building systems that ensured that people truly obeyed God, the nation of Israel would have enjoyed lasting peace.

Did you know that it was the nation of Israel that also led the nation of Judah astray into idolatry?

Verse 6 says: “The arrogance of the people of Israel cries out against them. Their sins make them stumble and fall, and the people of Judah fall with them.”

The real heartbreak in this matter is not that Israel sinned and also led Judah to sin, no.

The real upsetting part is that they chose to ignore God’s warning that could have helped them to change. They rejected the offer of Salvation.

The truth is that many people will go to hell fire not because they were sinners really, but because they refused to accept the provision that God made for their rescue in Christ Jesus.

That is the reason for all the calamities and punishments that befell both nations.

Let me close with the followings:

Hebrews 3:7-8: So then, as the Holy Spirit says, “If you hear God’s voice today, do not be stubborn, as your ancestors were when they rebelled against God, as they were that day in the desert when they put him to the test.

The truth is, If a man knows how to humbly respond to God’s correction, God can always work with him.

That’s why the Psalmist says in Psalm 51:16-17 that:

16 You do not want sacrifices, or I would offer them; you are not pleased with burnt offerings.

17 My sacrifice is a humble spirit, O God; you will not reject a humble and repentant heart.

To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.

Let’s pray as we declare the followings together

I declare that God is my constant guide and counsellor through His Holy Spirit. I choose to listen to Him whenever He speaks and leads me along my life journeys. He protects, guides, and watches over me in all my ways. I will always ignore unfounded fantasies from the devil and remain united with God, my Father. Amen.

I call you blessed now and always.
