Good morning Saints in Christ Jesus.
We give glory to God for the gift of another new day, we thank God for the privilege of life and for His unending mercy and grace upon us always. Praise God!
Isaiah Chapter 38 concluded…
We learnt from Chapter 38 yesterday how God miraculously healed King Hezekiah from his life-threatening malady and from the Hebrew transliteration we noted, the malady/sickness revolves around an inflammation of the ulcer family – very painful like something that burns. That’s how the original text describes the sickness.
The principal story of this happening can be found in 2 Kings 20
It’s also worthy of note how God decided to use natural means to perform this miracle – a lump of figs made into poultice (when you place a small mass either heated or not on an inflamed part of the body).
This clearly shows that we can actually find cures from herbs, roots and various agric products.
If you see anyone speaking against the use of herbs, shrubs, leaves, roots, and several other medicinal foods etc for healing, or treating wounds, then such people need to be set free from either ignorance or religious brainwashing.
God Himself used natural means just like we read from from today’s Chapter.
Also, Jesus Christ Himself applied natural means for healing. John 9:6-11
Apostle Paul recommended natural means to Timothy. 1Tim 5:23
We can’t claim to know more than God in this matter. That’s why we must wake up to the truth and also learn how the Spirit of God directs us in every matter.
The spirit of God based on the Word of God may direct you to use water (water therapy) or wine, handkerchiefs/mantles, etc and He may even ask you to consult your medical doctor.
Very importantly, He may decide to just ask you to speak the Word into that situation without using anything. So, whatever you do, let it be according to how God has directed you and must be anchored on faith. Simply believe as you pray and use any of the natural resources that God has given humanity for survival.
Please, I am not saying it is good to consult Babalawo or spirit mediums or taken sacrifices to cross roads. This is idolatry and God frowns at it. Focus on God and His leading only.
So, what happened after King Hezekiah received his healing?
He burst into a beautiful song of thanksgiving and praised God, because his life was given back to him with additional 15 years.
