STUDYING AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE – PART 445
Isaiah Chapter 52
From our previous studies, we learnt that Israel had already concluded in their minds that God had forsaken them and therefore fell asleep spiritually after being taken into Babylonian captivity.
Prophet Isaiah, who was spiritually sensitive to their situation brings to them a joyful news in Chapter 52 and encourages them to wake up from their slumber. Let’s read…
Isaiah 52:1-6 TPT
Wake up! Open your eyes! Beautiful Zion, put on your majestic strength! Jerusalem, the sacred city, put on your glory garments! Never again will the unclean enter your gates!
[2] Arise and shake off your dust! Sit enthroned, Jerusalem! Break off your shackles of bondage from your neck, you captive daughter of Zion!
[3] For this is what Yahweh has to say: “You were sold for nothing; now you will be redeemed without any payment.”
[4] For Yahweh says: “Long ago, my people went down to Egypt and lived as foreigners there, and for no good reason Assyria oppressed them.
[5] And now, what have I here?” says Yahweh. “Indeed, my people have been taken into bondage without cause while mocking rulers howl; and every day my name is continually despised!” says Yahweh.
[6] “Therefore, my people will know the power of my name, and they will know in that day that I am the one who promised them, saying, ‘Behold, I am here!'”
What a wonderful news for them from God through Prophet Isaiah.
Do you know that during this period, many people like the Israelites have already concluded in their mind that God has forsaken them?
Do you know many people have given up praying to God and looking for shortcuts?
Do you know that many people have lost their spiritual sensitivities to the worries of this life?
The Word of God is coming to us this morning saying…
Wake up!!!
Never allow unclean and detestable thoughts ravage your mind. Don’t give the devil a foothold in your life.
God has already settled your case in Christ Jesus just like He did for the people in Jerusalem.
Rejoice and laugh at the storm and the joy of the Lord will continue to fill your mind empowering you to witness and experience many wonderful testimonies.
