Why Do The Wicked Seems To Be Prospering And The Righteous Appears Helpless?

December 19, 2020 by ddmionline

Greetings to you all greatly beloved of God and welcome to another episode of our study of the Scriptures. We bless the name of the Lord God for His many blessings over us. Praise be to God!

In our today’s episode 621, we shall be examining the book of Habakkuk titled:

Why Do The Wicked Seems To Be Prospering And The Righteous Appears Helpless?

According to Habakkuk 1:1 and 2:2-4 we can deduce that Prophet Habakkuk authored the book.

The Book was written roughly between 610 and 605 B.C.

We can see from Chapter 1 that Prophet Habakkuk was grappling with the fact that he had seen so much evils been done to the people of God and has become overwhelmed to the point that he could no longer stand it.

Violence, fighting, quarreling and destruction were happening everywhere around him. The law has become weak and useless, and justice is never done.

Evil people were getting the better of the righteous, and so justice was perverted.

All these made Habakkuk to become sick to the bone and then he cried out to God.

After his prayers, he got an answer from God to his questions and those answers boosted his faith in God’s ability and readiness to save – Salvation.

Reading verses 5-11 gives us the details of the answer.

God told Habakkuk that he should not think the wicked were prospering while the righteous suffered.

Rather, he told him The wicked people will not survive, but those who are righteous will live because they are faithful to God.

You will find more details in Chapter 2.

To really assure Habakkuk that the answer God gave him would come to pass, he was told to write down the message and make it plain on paper and the fulfilment will not be delayed. Read Hab 2:2-4

Then Habakkuk became satisfied and prayed a long prayer to God in which he expressed his unshakable faith in God, even in the midsts of those challenges. You will find this prayer in Chapter 3.

How does this apply to New Covenant Believers?

The righteous that Habakkuk was talking about are now all Believers in the finished work of Christ.

It means with yiur faith in Christ, you will be saved and those who rejected Salvation through Christ will be damned. The’re called: “The Wicked.”

You will find Apostle Paul’s teachings on this in Romans 1:17 and Galatians 3:11 where he quoted Prophet Habakkuk.

In those two references, he emphasized the need and importamce of being justified by faith, which the gift of God.

Also read Ephesians 2:8-9 and 2 Corinthians 5:21 for more emphasis.

Sometimes as believers, we may not completely understand what God is doing in our lives and aroynd us but if we patiently seek Him in prayers and search through His Word diligently, we will discover it’s for our own good at the end of the day.

To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.

Let’s pray:

I want to pray for some people reading this message who have been diagnosed with some kind of strange sickness and you have agreed you want to be living with it because the doctor had said – No Cure!

I decree by the authority of Christ who is living in me and in you as Believers, that sickness or ailment is dead already; it has become none existence and you are free indeed, in Jesus name.

Probably it happened to someone close to you or someone you know, I decree, that person is healed totally, in Jesus name.

Hear me well, I dont how many years or months or weeks you have been facing that challenge but because of the fact that Jesus said it ia finished, I declare every ailment, sickness, disappointment, stagnation or whatever challenge trying to ravage your life is finished already, in Jesus name.

Remember this that Christ dwells permanently in you. What cannot be found in Christ cannot be found in you and what is in Christ is in you also. Continue to live in this reality, in Jesus name.
